When I think of weedeaters, or string trimmers, the first brand that comes to my mind is Poulan. The company knows what they are doing when it comes to lawn care which is why I have to show you something. Let’s look at the Poulan PRO pp 125 gas powered weedeater.

I have to get in to the attachments first because this is something I rarely see. You can basically turn this weedeater in to a 6 in 1 lawn care tool. You can change it in to the following:

1. Trimmer - this is its basic function to hack down weeds and tall grasses where the lawn mower cannot reach.

2. Edger - similar to the function of the trimmer it can edge sidewalks and now even bushes and hedges.

3. Blower - yes, you can turn your weed eater in to a mini blower to push away dirt, leaves, and grass from the driveway or sidewalk. However, it is still a noisy machine in the blower mode.

4. Cultivator - you can aerate soil before planting your garden. However, if you have tough soil, a tiller is a better option.

5. Brush cutter - sometimes you will need to cut down thick brush that your weedeater or string trimmer won’t be able to handle on its own. The attachment gives you the extra cutting power you need. I was able to cut up some 4 inch thick saplings with no problem.

6. Pole pruner - just like the hand held pruners, you can turn your Poulan string trimmer in to a gas powered pruner that will out speed your neighbors.

My personal opinion is that this weedeater is perfect for most people. I consider myself to be a bit different as I’m really rough with my tools and like to do things they were not meant to do. This causes me to be a bit disappointed in the power of it. For a gas trimmer, it should have exceptional power but I didn’t feel like it did.

If you order this online from amazon.com, just be forewarned that sometimes USPS isn’t as gentle with their shipping as they should be. There are many mentions of wedeaters arriving with damage despite the packaging.

The Poulan string trimmer, in my opinion, is worth the money for trimming around the house. It starts easy, doesn’t put out any smoke or strong fumes. I wouldn’t use it for contracting work when using it all day long because it would take its toll on your hands.
